PostHeaderIcon Win a copy of Hagoth: Builder of Ships!!

I figured this would be a good first post for our little site here.

I’m offering a free copy of Hagoth to the winner of my logo design contest: check it out here. Basically, I’m looking for a nice logo for my blog and will take submissions until September 6th. The person who submits the logo I like the best will be sent a copy of Hagoth (once it’s available)!!

If you have any questions at all, feel free to contact me: mikedrys@gmail.com

Thanks

Mike

Almost a year later, we have our first breakthrough. Mike’s excellent game has been picked up by DESERET BOOK for a trial run [see his personal website here-

This is how it begins. Continue to watch ZDGI members – we are determined to change the process of game design submission within the LDS publishing community to bring games of worth to the LDS game-playing community. Every small victory of ours is a major victory for the LDS community.

Never forget the cross-over pioneer between the world of mainstream boardgames and the LDS game publishing community – SETTLERS OF ZARAHEMLA. This little gem sold over 32,000 copies in LDS bookstores. This served the LDS retail community as well as the LDS game-playing community – a true win/win situation. If DESERET BOOK has similar success with HAGOTH, the LDS publishing community will want to take note and put more energy into considering publishing LDS themed games for publication – games that are a little more than trivia-based or MONOPOLY-clones. At that point, the LDS retailer/game-playing/publishing communities will equally be well served and it will become a win/win/win situation for everybody.

That is what ZDGI is all about.

Join us. This victory for Mike is just the first in what we hope will be a string of victories for the entire LDS community. The retailers, the publishers, the players, and the designers. This is a marvelous example of how everything can work together for the good of everybody. Let’s get people sitting down at tables with each other face-to-face, engaged with each other in positive activities rooted in our collective LDS heritage.

I urge everybody to go out and purchase a copy of this game. Not just because it represents the craft of ZDGI designers at their best, but because it sends a message to the LDS publishing community that quality games are worth their time, effort and investment. The fact that you are going to love this game doesn’t hurt either…
